There's a Queen song I've been looking forever, at one point in the song, you can hear Freddie Mercury sing "It's a kind of magic". Could anyone lend me a hand in determining which Queen song would that be?

This would be, of course, "Radio Ga Ga".

I've always liked the one with the chorus about how the show must go on. I wish I could find it...

I can't remember, but I think it has an iconic, three-beat cadence ... stomp-stomp-CLAP! stomp-stomp-CLAP!

Wait ... I know ... it's the 2-minute intro to "We Are The Champions"!

They released a bunch of new Queen songs with Rockband 3 and let me tell you if you really want to shred any pride you have - sign up to sing Bohemian Rhapsody.

As I recall, it's "Fat Bottomed Girls." Interesting song-- at one point, the lyric "Get on your bikes and ride" is heard. Of course Queen also did a song about bicycles that included the lyric "Fat bottomed girls will be riding today." Hmmm ... just what is that song about bicycles?

I don't remember the title, but I can hear the song.

"I want to ride my bicycle. I want to ride my bike . . ."

It might be Bicycle Races.

Yeah, but didn't they lift it from a medieval jousting chant? I know I heard that somewhere.

Interesting tidbit:
On public radio today I heard the story of how a school teacher helping with the galaxy zoo project hosted on Brian May's website found the green blob they think might be lit up by and extinct quasar, then they played this driving beat without words for a bit, it was totally froody
http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/...lob?ft=1&f=100
I'm afraid this link doesn't mention May, but no time for further searching.

In Guitar Hero that role is played by Under Pressure. Particularly one point where he repeats "why" "Why" "WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY" and holds that high note, crescendos and slides to an even higher note. It's crazy. I'm a fairly accomplished singer and that one just kicks my ass.

Enjoy,
Steven

I have a friend who can sing that. I was going to do "Under Pressure" for karaoke, but told her I couldn't do that part. She performed it for me flawlessly right there.

Anyone remember that song where Freddie was looking for somebody to love? Had quite a misleading title, IIRC...

Another One Bites the Dust is from "The Game" IIRC.
Another Rides the Bus is Weird Al's parody.

I thought "frood" was a noun.

P.S. ministryman, are you absolutely sure you understand the game that's being played here?

I mean if so, full marks for a sublime whoosh, but... O_o

This seems like a good thread to find another Queen song.

The lyrics talk about how to keep yourself alive. I'm stumped.

My Brother -in-Law and I, nailed that sucker!!!

The first time I did it alone, and got something like 70%. Which was devastating. It's really too wordy for one person.
It didn't help that my SIL couldn't wait til I was finished to mention that she had always thought they were saying, "Chris Miller we will not let you go...."

Man, this is a great thread. I've learned so much about Queen I always wanted to know but was afraid to ask.

One I've always wondered about, but doesn't look like it's been answered yet... Some song he was singing about his best friend. Does anyone know what that one is called?

Oh, you just HAD to bring that up, didn't you.

And don't pretend you didn't know that MY DAD wrote those words ("Talking Flashpewahh Blues", 1958). Sure, he made some money when Joan Baez included the song on her "Pull the Triggers, Niggers" album. And Johnny Rivers performed it live at the Whiskey A-Go-Go twice... he mangled the lyrics ("Flay-ash Pwah-ah", indeed!), but at least HE paid for his material.

But then Queen lifts dad's coolest hook ever, and our family doesn't see dime one.

More I can't say, because there's supposedly "potential legal actions" pending... but I'm not holding my breath.
