Question: "When should I watch Season 1 of 'Game of Thrones'?"

There have beenquite a few "Game of Thrones" threads, but didn't want to read a spoiler so I started this new thread.

I am part way through the first book and am intrigued. Does Season 1 of "Game of Thrones" roughly equal book 1?

I am interested in watching the series, but don't want to ruin the reading experience.

I just want to know how much and when I can start watching.

Thanks!

MtM

There is a little bit from the very beginning of Book 2 in the finale episode, but otherwise it's all from Book 1.

And I just want to note that it's interesting seeing someone avoiding spoilers from the other direction. The vast majority of no-spoiler pleas have come from series-watchers who don't want book spoilers, not from book-readers who don't want series spoilers.

My answer is don't start watching it until season 2 becomes available, or you'll be jonesing for season two -- like me.

Makes perfect sense to me.

If you can restrain yourself that long.

I doubt anyone can restrain themselves from devouring book 2-4 after they read 1 though.
