As the title says, why do women wear those 3" or higher horrifically uncomfortable (and terrible for your feet) shoes?
Is it because they think men find them attractive?
Is it because other women judge them by what they wear?
This poll is about women over the age of 25 or so, not young women who presumably are still getting comfortable with themselves.
This was prompted by the Ugg thread, where there were plenty of cracks about “ugly” footwear. I should also mention, my Mom thinks women dress provocatively for other women, more of a pecking order type thing than a way to attract men. I disagree with her.

Men (or at least this man) love the sight of toned legs in high heels.
When my wife puts on high heels, it really show off her muscular calves.
We used to call them fuck me heels. A lot of porn stars wore them while getting it on. There’s Nothing quite like legs up in the air and those heels up by the ladies head. They could easily put a guys eye out.
I like the 2 inch heels my wife wears when she dresses up. Anything higher just seems slutty.
My feet are screwed up enough that I have not been able to wear heels like that for many, many years. But when I did, I did it because I liked the way they made my legs look. Having muscular calves makes me feel powerful. (Not that I could have done anything powerful, like run or kick, in 3" heels, but still…)
When I wear high heels, 99% of the time you can’t see how tall the heel is because I wear dress pants over them, with the hem hanging down near the floor. I wear them because I’m tall and love being taller. (Most of my shoes are less than 2", which is quite a small heel.)
By the way, I think your estimate of the height of a “whore heel” is pretty off. These are 3" to 3.75" heels. I see women in business suits wearing that height of heel all the time. These are 5" and up.

Yet another double standard when it comes to the sexes. On a well-toned woman, stiletto heels look sexy as all get out. But on Antonio Fargas in I’m Gonna Git You Sucka, they just look silly.
Wow, what a bunch of sexist garbage. I wear tall shoes (5-6" heels) because I like shoes. I don’t find them uncomfortable to walk in. I wear them because I like them, not because I’m a whore, or a slut, or begging for male attention. Assholes.
I’m a guy that’s done drag about 4 times in my life. I’ve worn 3-4" heels and didn’t find them uncomfortable. Hell, I wore them all day (office Halloween contest) and then went dancing at a club in them all night. They didn’t start to bother me until after about 14 hours.
Yes, but did you wear them predominantly because you’re a whore and/or slutty or because you are desperate for the approval of strangers? Pick one, please.

You’d be surprised what a good designer can do. Yes, they’re not athletic shoes, that’s not their job.
