Healthcare Alliance Rx card

I just received in the mail a prescription discount card sent to me by something called Healthcare Alliance out of Washington, DC. This is free to me. So how do they make money? I am assuming I should never use this card, that they are either in business to charge me a service fee, obtain my prescription history to sell to insurance companies, or expect me to give my SS number to them eventually. Does anyone know anything about this company? Am i being paranoid?
