Why is Wikipedia obsessed with the series Millennium?

Anyone else notice that "Did You Know..." section has a fact about to 90s Fox series Millennium at least every week for months? In May for instance, the show is mentioned 9 times. Here is an example:

Yes, I noticed, but the mania about painter Roy Lichtenstein is even worse; I opened a thread about it a week or so ago (went like a lead balloon though)

It's not that hard to get an article into "Did you know...", as long as it meets some basic criteria. Once in a while, you'll see an editor write dozens of articles on a single topic, and nominate them all. There's no voting process, or anything. If the article meets the criteria, it will be posted eventually.

Other topics that have dominated DYK in the past include the Eurovision contest and Michigan Wolverines football.

Another example; during the past six months or so, there was a concerted effort to add Wikipedia articles about the Welsh town of Monmouth. So there are articles about buildings, people and historical sites in Monmouth. The link above says that they got forty articles in Did You Know.
