Sweet Og!

Oh, and here are Pablo and Cuddles, the hotel goats.

Mexico?

Winthrop, WA.

Quick! Some one get Gordon Ramsay!

The wife and I spent a few nights at a place across the street last October. Nice little town. Our fun was the mining museum and playing on the under construction pedestrian bridge.

Yeah, the Shafer Museum was interesting. The thing that ‘got’ me was a ‘typical Methow Valley cabin’. It was built in 1889 (IIRC) by a young man and his wife. That same year, the man fought a prairie fire and later succumbed to his injuries. He was 23. It boggled my mind that someone so young would go out to the wilderness, build a cabin, and die at 23. I wouldn’t have gone off and built a cabin when I was 23. I don’t know many (none, personally) 23-year-olds today who would.

There’s no hotel directly across the street from Duck Brand, but there is one close across the street called Hotel Rio Vista. The SO considered it, but decided on Duck Brand. We stayed in rooms 2 and 3 on successive nights. Room 2 is behind the sign in the pic and was quite nice. Four windows, and a nice balcony. We liked room 3 better, though the balcony is smaller and there are only two windows. A/C worked better for one thing, and there was a couch. No TV or phones in the room, but they do have WiFi. I thought about bringing my computer, but didn’t. If we stay there again I’ll bring it and a couple of movies. Food was average, but I did enjoy a carnitas taco make to my specifications: guacamole, jalapeños, and cilantro. Better than any I’ve tried to find that way.

Well sweet og is specially food. Bitter og is just kinda food; it’s not specially food.
