Because people who are intelligent and rational realise they would never in a million years want to become politicians.
They think ALL kids are punishment for having sex, so really it logically follows that God would punish you extra harshly for your avoidance of previous punishment.
If he would think about it, maybe he could see it isn’t saying much about a Supreme Being who would cause an innocent human suffering to get back at what they consider sinners, and if a person has a child with a disability they would not have had an abortion so that would surely be an insult to a Supreme Being!
