Here Starts smoothly by promising an even handed approach but devolves about halfway through into a not so veiled attack on “socialism” and “takers”.
Which is funny as hell because it’s so much a capitalist solution to healthcare, but hey…
Isn’t there something about “The Least of My Brothers”, Dave Ramsey is a Christian, Yes?
He doesn’t deny that it is noble but we have to do the math.
Which he then proceeds to screw up and distort but never actually does it. (didn’t watch the whole video)
But he didn’t call for Obama’s impeachment. That’s considered compromise nowadays.
He’s a big libertarian (of the Tea Party variety, though predating them in his beliefs) and hates being required to buy auto liability insurance let alone health insurance.
More than that: It’s the only plan which will give health insurance companies as we know them any kind of a shot at surviving the Baby Boomers all hitting seventy at around the same time, especially given that their kids and especially grandkids aren’t exactly getting the kind of jobs which traditionally come with employer-paid health insurance.
Given how little Medicare pays out, it might also be the only way hospitals as we know them can survive, but that’s a Massive Political Clusterfuck for… about a decade from now, perhaps a bit longer.
I don’t know. Maybe it’s just too difficult to go completely free market with a ware which cannot be purchased by the people who need it most but which society is extremely wary of forcing people to go without. One of those things has to give. Uh… how old is Ramsey, does anyone know?
Yes, Dave Ramsey. Of course these people are wrong to blindly follow regurgitated talking points yelled out on CNN or FOX News. They should think for themselves by giving you their undivided attention while you say essentially nothing v e r y s l o w l y in single syllable words with a smug look on your face.
Sorry to spoil the ending if you’re planning on listening after the break; budget, give money to Jesus, debt snowball, give money to Jesus, buy mutual funds, give money to Jesus, retire, give money to Jesus, meet Jesus, leave your estate to Jesus.
Didn’t listen to the whole thing because I was getting an unbearable urge to travel to wherever he hides out and strangle him with a scarf.
In the part I did hear, about half, he had not yet realized that well people get sick, sick people get well, and that employers policies are forced to take everyone, pre-existing condition or no, and have not gone bust.
