As I said above, this is a long, long, loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong overdue announcement. Der Trihs has been an abusive twerp for years; and he has been intentionally, aggressively, and with complete disregard for facts, forum rules, or the truth (especially the truth) basically trolling the boards. So, why now?
Hey, don’t get me wrong. I’m glad to see him suspended. And, given his obviously high opinion of himself, I wouldn’t bet against him pulling the old “sock on suspension” trick*. I’m curious as to why, all of a sudden, his behavior–really not very much different than his long-standing shtick–has gotten him his just dessert.
Well, here’s hoping that the lying, rude, sack of dung manages to get banned either during his suspension or the very day it’s lifted.
*By the way, if someone knows of a website that one can have a computer-generated Agent 86 saying “It’s the old such-and-such trick”, let me know.

I’ve reported this for a move to ATMB, BTW, since I don’t think we’re encouraged to Pit members who can’t respond and the actual question is for the mods.
I was not aware that disregard for facts or truth was grounds for suspension. It’s a good thing we have you to tell us when we cross the line, or you might well be talking to yourself in a very empty messageboard…
From the sample shown, I do not approve of this pitting, and certainly not a suspension for that. I guess DT should have pretended to show more respect for bullshit, the far right and whacky religious dogma which he had mentioned somewhere that he was told to keep dialing it back. Guess he couldn’t get stealth and subtle enough. Some of his was over the top too, but we have a diverse group here, and if people didn’t like it, there was always the BBQ Pit to deal with it. But this? I don’t agree with all of DT’s posts, but personally I found him entertaining as hell.
Those were odd links. I reported them since none was a link to warnings he got, and one was actually a link to warning Pjen got. His posts were insult-ish, but I didn’t see any mod notes are warnings.
I have a feeling this thread will be shut down soon or, at best, moved to ATMB.
I’m not surprised at the suspension, and I scroll past his posts more often than not these days, but I agree that the linked posts don’t justify the action.
In the suspension announcement, several links were provided as evidence. I read every one, and don’t see anything but a particular knack for brutality in being honest. I rarely disagree with him, and I think most of the objection is that right wingers don’t like to admit to their own motivations that Der Trihs pretty much nails dead on.
There was a time when you were one of the sane lefties on this board, but I have to say you’ve gone completely off the deep end in the last couple years, Bob. It’s a shame, really. I miss the old Bob!
Yeah,the only time I really disagree with him is on the subject of women (I think he has some strange ideas there) but if we are going to just suspend people for having disagreeable opinions, I’ve got a list and he’s not even in the top 100.
I automatically interpret “Der Shithead” whenever I see his name. He can be a major asshole.
But he can also be quite humorous and informative.
I hope he comes back from suspension and doesn’t change a bit.
