In the now over-crowded field of Republican candidates, where in the pack is Jindal? What segment of the electorate does he appeal to? Seems to me Jindal’s positions are already covered by Huckabee.
Fixed thread title at request of the OP.
So far, the answer would seem to be No.
Was he the “thirsty guy” or the “man-child”?
No, the religious nut who’s not only colored, but the good kind of colored.
White-ish?
Daniel Larison pretty much hits the nail on the head:
Jindal’s candidacy might make sense if he were particularly charismatic, had particularly novel ideas, or had been a particularly effective governor, none of which apply. It’s difficult to see why Jindal would be anyone’s first or second pick in an already crowded field.
I would have cared once. Jindal is smart and once showed promise of being a reformer. But he’s mismanaged Louisiana’s finances badly, and seems to have abandoned the interesting initiatives that once gave me some hope for him.
He just wants to get a Piyush of the American Dream.
I think we’ve seriously reached the point where we need to list the Republicans not running this cycle.

I think Bobby Jindal is so smart he thinks he needs to act like a pandering religious nutjob to win.
Unfortunately for him, that position already has several suitors.
Didn’t he give the Repub response to the State of the Union where he mocked volcano research which was closely followed by the volcano eruption in Iceland that shut down air traffic in Europe for weeks? Would have been nice to have some warning on that.
Linda Blair is a fan
Apparently the eruption I was thinking of was before Jindal’s response.
And on the Revised Bono-Jolie scale, we should care because?
To put this in more context, President Obama’s approval rating in Louisiana is 42% (cite). Obama lost Louisiana in a landslide in 2012. And yet he is more popular there than Jindal. I really don’t know why Bobby is even bothering.
Heh. Good one.
I don’t either. I think even Perry has a better shot at the presidency than Jindal, and Perry has no shot at all.
Anyone going to challenge his legitimacy on birther grounds? Sure, he was born in the US, but he wasn’t conceived here. (His parents emigrated about six months before he was born, so unless he was really premature, the conception happened overseas.)
