Schlockmercenary.com - Is This Domain Name Yours?

My regular bookmark for Schlock Mercenary brings up what looks like a page trying to sell the domain. Anyone know what’s going on? Googling didn’t bring anything up.

I have an email address for the comic, but I’ve heard he gets email if the cartoon posts two minutes late, so I don’t see the point of spamming him.

It’s working fine for me. If you’re on a PC, try going to a command prompt and typing IPCONFIG /FLUSHDNS and retrying.

Thanks, Quartz. Good to know it’s not global.

I got a message saying that the command had to be elevated. I waited for my IT guy (son) to get home and he elevated it. Still no love.

He tried using the Google public dns with cache flush and we still get the bogus page. We meaning his computer does the same (PC) and so does my apple laptop.

He found that the router was using the google dns as a default. So he rebooted it and flushed the cache. Both the google and the comcast dns go to the bad page.

He disconnected his phone from wifi, and the AT&T connection also advertises the domain for purchase.

So he checked twitter. He found a notice that there’s a dns issue, that the fix is propagating, but that if it hasn’t reached your area you can use the mirror site here: http://x.schlockapp.com/

If you scroll below the comic there’s an explanation of what probably caused the problem.

It isn’t just you - I am seeing the same issue. I did the flush dns and that did not work.

I am also using google as my dns provider.

I just had a site not available message.

I could get to the main site yesterday, but not today. The schlockapp site works, but it’s still giving me yesterday’s comic. He can’t seriously expect people to go in to work without their daily dose of Schlock, can he?
