Independence; Score 4389

Well that went well!

  1. I’ve learnt that:
  • Scouts are essential, right from the start
  • trading with Indians is both profitable and boosts Trade Points
  • a small number of Settlements is viable
  • one Port is viable (though of course many choices are possible in this game)
  • you can go for Liberty Bells right from the start*
  • the King probably demands money more when you have a lot of it
  • Europeans may well donate dosh, especially for the World Map

*maybe this works because I have a small population, so can declare Independence before the King’s forces grow large in response to the Liberty Bells…

  1. I guess from the number of thread views that I have a small but dedicated audience.

Would you like another game blog thread?

So far I’ve been the French and the English, so it’s appropriate to be the Spanish or the Dutch next.
I’ve always chosen ‘Huge World’ option, but there are a few other maps (e.g Caribbean / South America)
I’ve played on Pioneer and Explorer (levels 2 and 3 of 7).
Those are the main options, but I could try to get Independence before 1600.

So if you do want to see anothe game, feel free to suggest a single change as well…

Yeah, go for independence before 1600!

That would be way cool.

(says one of the few but dedicated audience-members  )

I agree with Worm! Try it with Dutch or Spanish as you suggested.

Since I’m having minor surgery on Wednesday and I’ll be off work for a while, I decided to give a shot at a game blog. I’m not half the player glee is, but I thought some of you might be interested.
