I lost both my parents just over a year ago and I went through a range of strong emotions.
I found it incredibly helpful to get grief counselling (from a UK charity called Cruse).

I’m thinking she drank heavily, or to the point that her liver went out. That’s what I gather from the posts, that she was upset about her mom passing a few years ago and then hit the bottle.
