One thing I loved about the article is that, although we beat the timetable for a manned moon landing by 31 years, we were able to accomplish it without building a space craft in earth orbit. Instead, we brought the lunar module into the moon’s orbit and descended from there.

And here, in the year 2008, it’s been 37 years since the last moon landing, and we don’t expect to return for another 10 years.

Well, question number two is answered by question number one, I guess. You don’t want children to see moles frolicking in their burrows.
