The only episode I remember was one wherein a woman had a lover who would turn into a cat. I think the cat guy betrayed her, so while he was in cat form, she took him to the vet to get fixed.
I have to credit ChatGPT for recognizing this.
Twilight Zone (Series 2 from the 1980s). Season 3 episode 24 “Cat and Mouse”.
I found a review that summarizes the plot.
I knew I’d seen it, but I checked everything BUT TZ because I was sure the OP would have known it was TZ.
I figured it was one of those also-ran fantasy series.
I think I watched them all
Amazing Stories (A-snoozing I called it)
Ray Bradbury Theater
Roald Dahl’s Tales of the Unexpected (has a very good version of Man From The South)
Night Gallery
Tales From the Darkside
Plus, the one responsible for Cat and Mouse
The New Twilight Zone (still my favorite incarnation)
But not Tales From The Crypt. I never got that one.
Season 1, episode 10 of Tales From The Darkside featured one of my favorite little Harlan Ellison stories, “Djinn, No Chaser”.
No Outer Limits?
I am too young for first run, and we didn’t get too many episodes in syndication (or my folks thought I shouldn’t watch “that crap”.). But oh my the ones I did see, I remember! The Zanti Misfits (shudder!), It Crawled out of the Woodwork, The invisible Enemy. I heard the show wes poor overall, but those episodes stick with me 60 years later.
Plus I get a kick out of seeing Vic Perrin doing regular acting, like in Adam-12. The voice doesn’t match the look.
Have you seen
- Masters of Horror
- The outer limits
- Black Mirror
- Into the dark
- American horror stories (stories, not story)
