How are you guys getting that tool to work? I filled in my birthdate, but then clicking “Go” or “Next” does nothing. Tried it in FF and Chrome - is it some kind of HTML5 thing?

That’s a handy way of determining “number of days between two dates” and other fun trivia. If you know your precise time of day for birth you can get very precise.
This site didn’t ask for that level of detail, but that would let their calculation for your number be (at worst) 24 X 60 X 60 = 86400 X (whatever the number they came up with for the generic day of your birth for number of people). Maybe somebody closer to my birthday could compare their number to mine and back into whatever number they’re using as a multiplier.

Seems like this is simply telling you the world population on the day you were born, but saying it in a rather cockeyed way.
When it says, “Where do you fit into 7 billion? Enter your date of birth to find out” that implies a ranking of some sort, based on your date of birth, among the 7 billion currently living.
I expected something more along the lines of how many people now living had been born before or after me, which I would have found interesting, rather than simply reminding me that when I was born, there were ~2.7 billion other people in the world, which I already knew.
