The old url started working again like the day after the switch. Give it a shot.
If you start with boardstest.straightdope.com then any links you click from there will point to that same domain. That won’t ever change (until they take it down, of course).
I think Mangetout is talking about links people add to their posts, like this one.
I like the boardtest address. The filters at work aren’t set up to block it.
When I type boards.straightdope.com into my browser, I am promptly redirected to boardstest.straightdope.com

I’m assuming Jerry just forgot to change the pointer.
I’ll get the homepage link fixed since that seems to be the culprit.
