From Schubert’s Trout Quintet to The Beatles’ “Octopus’s Garden”, throw 'em out there…
Debussy’s “La Mer”
“Victory at Sea”
“How Deep is the Ocean?”
“Dames at Sea”
“By the Sea”
I wrote this last Friday in my studio.
It was an exercise in speed production with my studio partner. Quite possibly the weirdest thing I’ve ever done. But hey, it’s funky electro-pop about being my bartender and guitarist getting eaten by an orca.
5 hrs start to finish, plus an hour mixing the next day with fresh ears.
Jethro Tull: “Sea Lion”
Crosby & Nash: “To the Last Whale”
Yes: “Don’t Kill the Whale”
Alan Hovhaness: And God Created Great Whales
Suicidal Tendencies - Go Skate!
Billy Ray Cyrus - I Want My Mullet Back
Pearl Jam - Whale Song
I thought it obvious, but allow me to clarify. Sealife, not “Life at Sea”
Thank You
St. Saens: Carnival of the Animals - The Aquarium

Go into the Water
There’s Fred Neil, folkie hero who disappeared down South & lived on royalties from “Everybody’s Talking” and:
“Boudreau Was a Nutcase” by the Austin Lounge Lizards (a Cajun bayou re-telling of Moby-Dick)
“Yellow Back Fly” by the Steep Canyon Rangers (also about a fisherman and a trash-talking fish)
“Water” by the Beach Boys
That PJ Harvey song featuring the lyrics “Little fish, big fish/Swimming in the water/Come back here and/Gimme my daughter”

Feist: Sea Lion Woman (This is an awesome performance)
Rheostatics: Whale Music
Someone took Baby Beluga which is the first one that popped into my mind. And then Bananaphone got in there and my head exploded.
