I can confirm the AV thing - our animal reproduction lecturer once demonstrated it’s use with gusto on a bull. If I recall correctly she waved the filled device around a little too vigorously afterwards and I was glad to be a few students back.
For greyhounds one gets a plastic glove and a pot.
For rams they use an electro-ejaculator, and I’m told they do this in gorillas too, although for understandable reasons they tend to sedate the gorilla first.
One wonders why they don’t use it in pandas actually.
