I was just ‘upgraded’ to a Actiontec MI424WR Rev I router. I had an Actiontec MI424WR Rev E prior to the upgrade. The problem is that the new router will not use or see my SMCGS8 smart switch that connects two other devices to my home network. The smart switch is plug and play and is not seen. Verizon tech support has not really had a clue on how to help me. I know the wiring is still good, because I reconnected the old router and the network was operational.
Can someone tell me my next step?
Try connecting each device directly to the new router, bypassing the smart switch. Also, try a different port on the new router, it may have 1 bad ethernet port.
