Katherine Hepburn
Burt Lancaster
Michael Caine
Robert DeNiro
Tom Hanks

As a tangent, how about top 5 movies a character actor like John Ratzenberger has appeared in, instead of the main star?

For Ratzenberger, some Pixar flicks, The Empire Strikes Back, and Ghandi are candidates.

Harry Dean Stanton might be another to consider.

Dustin Hoffman.

Jane Russell made more than two movies? (IMDBing) Okay, but barely more than five that anybody has seen since they finished their second runs.

Okay. So NOT Jane Russell. Thanks.

I think I’ll go for Michael Caine next.

I think we can safely skip James Dean.

Too sad it is. He did more than three but they were really weak.

Can probably skip John Cazale as well.

Good choice. I’ll get that one up tomorrow, so as not to overdo things!

Of course anybody could be doing some of their own. It’s not my property after all.

Have at!

Just actors? How about directors?

Sure. That ought to be fun.

Great ideas! Especially the Harry Dean Stanton one. There must be at least a dozen “supporting role” actors (both genders) whose appearance saved some not-so-hot-otherwise movies.

Are we just doing actors? If directors are OK, how about Woody Allen?

Okay! I’ll shoot for him tomorrow. Name other qualified directors, too.

Scorsese
Coppola
Eastwood (when he’s not also acting in the film)
