OK, first it started as one or two a week, and now I’m getting about 15 per day… How the hell do they get my e-mail address when I don’t look up porn?
That’s wierd, I look up porn all the time and I never get any porn spam mail. 
You don’t have to look up porn. All you have to do is use that address once on a website (any site, pick one. lately it seems that job/career sites are selling addresses fast and furiously) that requires your address to register or something along those lines. Then, your address can be sold several times, and the senders of spam don’t care if you’re likely to be interested in what they are advertising or not. For example, at least once a week I get spam about “increasing the size of your penis” as I do not have one, this isn’t likely to get my business, but they send barrelsful. If your e-mail program allows filters, block the addresses of anyone that sends you more than one piece of spam. However, I think they sell lists of addresses that refuse mail too, since they know they’re valid…At least it’s not telemarketers, right?
I used to get a lot of various types of spam, but through a long time of studious ignoring them I get no more. Also when I want to download some free file that asks for an e-mail I usually give it a fake e-mail or a trash rocketmail account I have.
I get that alot. I eventually went to getting a new email address. I use my hotmail account for anything that has “give us your email!” on it. Grr…Now I have a secret email account for friends. Unfortunately, that doesn’t stop the unsolicited forwards, but whatcha gonna do?
Whatever you do, do not reply at all. Even if you say “Remove me from my list.” If you do reply, then they know they have a live e-mail address with someone on the other end and they will send more.
Most email clients, even Hotmail, have a way of filtering out stuff you don’t want. You can choose to have anything with “porn” in it directed to the trash, which is almost as good as never having gotten it in the first place.

It doesn’t repeat (at least so far!).
I too recieve alot of junk mail. Mostly for porn. I’ve never visited a porn site. Some of the mail says that it was not unsollisited, that someone submitted my e-mail address. Could they mean that some other site sold it to them? Anyway, thanks for all your advice.
Whenever I get porn mail I just put a block on it, but they keep changing their address to circumvent this. The advice here about two email accounts is a good idea.
Yeah get some junky hotmail account that you wont use very often and another one for people you LIKE
Try Yahoo. When I used hotmail, I experienced unreliability, & Yahoo has a nice interface, cutting-edge spam-screening, and the ability to click “Checkmark-All” just like hotmail has. (the Checkmark-All capability comes in handy in the event your junk mail is in greater proportion to the “good” mail in your inbox. Because then, all you have to do after Checkmarking-All, is to Un-Checkmark the good mail, whereupon you can press delete.
