08/08/08! this is SIGNIFICANT
There is a photograph in our local paper of a woman who calibrated her 88th birthday on 08/08/08.
Calibrated it to what? Can you do that? “Hmm, my birthday is August 6th, but it would be much cooler if it was 08/08. so I’ll just recalibrate”.

Of course I meant celebrated. :smack:

Oh, this is nothing. Remember 12:34.56 7/8/90?

Or 7/7/77, billed a racetracks as the luckiest day of the 20th century? And it turned out somewhere the 7 horse won the 7th race at some track that day. Amazing! :rolleyes:

I’m listening to the piano right now. How many keys on a piano? 88!
You know who else is associated with the number eight?
Yogi Berra of course. On Yogi Berra day at Yankee Stadium where Don Larson threw out the opening pitch to Yogi, David cone even pitched an 88 pitch perfect game. Yogi of course wore and retired #8 along with Bill Dickey and as you know in baseball Ninety percent of this game is mental, and the other half is physical.

I’m looking forward to the year 2013 when we can get past all of this coincidental number worship.
It doesn’t end then. 2013-12-11 10:09:08.07060504030201… :smiley:

Yes it’s significant. It was my birthday, 28 on 08/08/08. It was better when I was 8 years old and it was 8/8/88.

::Pointing furiously at Tapioca Dextrin::
Godwinizing, Godwinizing!!!

Of course 08/08/08 was significant: Stone Brewing Company releases its yearly Vertical Epic Ale. I had the 07/07/07 brew, and it was delicious!

All of these eights…crazy! :smiley:
So the alarm goes off this morning, and I’m fighting to clear out the sleep gases from my head, and suddenly this revelation hits me like a bolt:

Holy God today’s date is ALL EIGHTS! The eighth day! of the eighth month! of the eighth year! of-- the second millenium. BUT STILL! Rendered a certain way, this date is mostly the number eight! Plus a few zeroes for placeholders BUT EVEN SO! This many eights at once MUST MEAN SOMETHING.
And at eight seconds after eight o eight a.m., it really meant something. But only for a second.
