Deliberatly obscure title because am starting to think that lots of westerners don’t know the significance of the date. ( I don’t want give out clues) and want to know who knows the significance of the date
But if you do know, what do you gift and to whom? For me its always flowers to all my friends and flowers and pearls ( earings brooch necklace) to my closer friends. Mama is dead so I can’t gift her anything. My sisters dont understand this holiday
I did when I lived in Cameroon, where it’s probably the biggest event in the year. Every year the government produces special fabric, and anyone who can afford to purchases it and has a tailor see it in some imaginative way. On the day itself, there is a big hometown parade, smaller celebrations by social organizations, traditional performances and dancing all night. It’s a blast.
I first come across it when I worked in Azerbaijan. Was a little perplexed about dudes giving random females roses on the street, equally puzzled seeing waitresses n , well in fact every lady dressed up to the max
I have an ex gf ,well lady with whom I keep in contact, in the former USSR, she will forgive my bad memory of everything excepting 8th March.
