2006 Little League World Series
This is a weak pit thread.
OK.
Examined it.
That was clearly not intentional.
Notice the difference in body language from the pitcher?
There is a huge difference.
There is no crying in baseball.
OK, let me spell out my problems with the OP. I don’t like “here’s a link, what ya think?” threads to begin with. Not in MPSIMS and especially not the pit. If spooje wanted a discussion regarding whether or not a foul in Hong Kong little league soccer was intentional or not he should have put it in the goddamn Game Room. Second, every last one of you idiots missed the point of the fucking article. The kid got arrested. No mention of that in the OP or any of the subsequent posts. How come a heckler from the cheap seats like me has to be the first one to point that out?
Keep posting, please.
Ummm…
I guess you got me there. You also proved me right for calling you idiots.
I was hoping for better than that
You waited a couple minutes, thought about it, edited your previous post, and this was the best you could do?
Fuck, this is like talking to a five year old. OK, RaftPeople, tell me why you don’t care what the article in the OP says.
Why would you assume I would care?
I did look at the video, because I was curious whether I would be able to determine from the video evidence if it looked intentional or an accident. But I don’t really care about what some writer had to say about it.
So you don’t have an opinion on whether or not the kid’s arrest was warranted or not?
If this is just about a red card it should be in the damn Game Room.
I’ll hazard a guess and say the article isn’t important because the OP asked if people thought it was incidental or intentional. He wasn’t asking if anyone thought the kid should have been arrested or if it was a racist act.
Yeah, this thread would have been better suited for IMHO or Game Room, at least until you hijacked it.
I don’t know the rules for arresting someone due to actions during a soccer game. But having said that it definitely looked like the kick was intentional based on the placement of the right foot.
Seems like it’s in the right forum to me, otherwise you wouldn’t be able to call all of us idiots and I wouldn’t have been as entertained by your retarded post.
Didn’t mean to hijack, exactly. I’m just a heckler from the cheap seats.
BOOOO!
Good times.
the kick is clearly intentional. the punch at the 40secs mark is harder to tell, but since it is from the same player i’ll guess that was intentional too.
I agree. To me, it looked as if the ball was already heading he other way when the kicker thought the kid’s head looked like a better target and went after it instead of the ball.
For some reason this thread reminds me of an incident when I was a junior rugby coach for my old school.
I was coaching an U13 team when one of the boys got up from a ruck and ran to the sideline in tears. As he ran past, I couldn’t see any visible signs of injury, nor was his jersey torn (vigorous rucking doesn’t generally start until the kids are 15 or so).
“Dad,” he said “That boy over there sat on my head!” he whinged.
I waited for the father to tell his son off for being such a pussy and send him back into the fray, but was shocked to hear him say “How dare he, that is disgraceful”.
The kid should have played soccer.
Just out of interest, on what grounds are you suggesting the referee should be arrested - specifically I mean? Do you think referees are responsible for every foul, act of violent conduct, etc?
FWIW, there is no doubt in my mind this is a deliberate act by the No. 2 - it’s then up to the prosecuting authorities to decide what to do, but certainly the ref should be producing a red card and a report to the local football authority. That is their duty.
From what I saw:
The hard tackles? Looks like the kids in white were learning the first skill taught in soccer - the flop.
The kid aimed for where the ball was and not where it was going. Not uncommon in 10 year olds. I think the reason people think it was deliberate was that the kids in blue were a very aggressive team, but aggressive does not equal dirty. The kid came in for a hard kick, missed the ball and accidently kicked someone laying on the ground.
Good going parents. Now the refs/coach have to deal with you rather than the kid that was just kicked in the face.
