I’m watching 100 Most Outrageous Moments, and at one point, they showed the game show girl who throws up on camera. It would’ve been nice to get a little advance warning that this was going to happen. Fortunately, I’m not squeamish enough to have lost my lunch from seeing that, but I can just imagine someone with a sensitive stomach seeing this.
Oy, I agree. I hate seeing puke, either on screen or in real life. That vomiting episode happens quite quickly, too–there’s no time to turn your eyes away.
I was really enjoying the first episode of “Mad Men” I happened to catch, until the martinis, oysters, and cheesecake came up in the office. I didn’t need to see that. Sounds, and reaction shots from the other actors would have sufficed.
I hate this new trend of showing people throwing up on-screen. I was watching an older movie the other day and the actor lurched out of camera range before puking. All we got was sound effects, and it was plenty realistic.
Damn, would I like to have a barf like that! And then do it again!
I’d also love to have seen the oysters come up. Would they look the same as they went down? How could you tell? The mind boggles…
Hey, Lib, is it too much to ask that you put a TMI in the title of your post before you mention things like that? Where’s your sense of common decency?!
I certainly don’t like watching people who are clearly nauseous, but the sudden out-of-nowhere puke is comedy gold. Just a couple of days ago I had some bad sardines and spent all morning going “Ya, hello?” - BLAAAAAARGH - “Oooh! Okay!”
My favorite part is her explanation. “I have extremely painful menses.” I like to imagine Kelly Ripa saying it on her morning show and the outrage it would produce.
