When I lived in the Bay Area, I recall reading an article about a 100 year old waiter that worked at the St. Francis Hotel in S.F… Does anyone recall that, and what kind of “tips” did the old gentleman get.? While I’m sure you “wits” out there will play with the “tips” thing, I would think the old gentleman received very generous gratuities!
That would depend on whether he made it to the table with the food before the place closed…
