Damn me to the fiery pits of something for not checking MPSIMS before posting in the thread in question in GD.
There are several dopers with a smaller post count but who have been around almost as long (fizzestothetop has 220 or so posts, adjusted for how many times I’ve posted as her accidentally:D She joined in around November of 2001). I think quietgirldownthehall has the ultimate record for people who have participated on the SDMB enough to be considered (i.e. a one-post wonder from back in March of '99 doesn’t count).
Like duh it took me a while to figure out my posts were being counted. Now I accept my posts as a badge of honor. I was proud to hit 200! Can’t imagine what it feels like to hit your high numbers!
But im wondering, why is there no “ranking” system here. Seems as if everyone is a member regardless of their number of posts or threads started. This begs the Q, why?
I finally hit the 1000 mark a few months ago. I’ve been a member of the SDMB for longer than most (over four years). I just don’t have much to say I guess.
