112th Congress already wasting time and money

Wait, what? I thought a bill was required to pass the House and the Senate to become a law. You will never see any of that become law and you know it, except maybe the robbery of Social Security because that’s strictly bipartisan.

Personally, I’m all about this. Gridlock the whole shebang. That way when people start coming after them with torches and pitchforks because they’re not getting paid or getting “essential” services they’ll actually have to work together. This is what it’s all about.

Hey, I’ve got a pitchfork! Who else is with me?

Only time they’ll work together is after the election and for about 2-4 weeks if this last election was any indication. And with the upcoming presidential election on everyones wee tiny little minds, expect a large increase in the amount of bombast and hollow posturing with a just as large decrease in the amount of anything of substance being done.

I’d also like to ask everyone to be nice to Boehner. If he cries (again. Seriously. Glenn Beck doesn’t cry this much), his bronzer will run. Do you know what that stuff can do to desktops and carpeting? Bankrupt the whole country (well, bankrupt even farther I suppose) on the cleaning bill.

Confirmed!

BINGO!

Heh, I like Obama, but if I had reason to believe he was a tyrannical, economy ruining, humanity destroying, anti-christ, I think I’d focus on convincing the public of that instead of whether or not he was born overseas.

These folks are nuts.

Aww, come on, who hasn’t missed the John Birch Society?

really, I got BINGO. look-- anti-Christ, new world order, free space, economy, destroy humanity.

One line doesn’t cut it. The only way to win Birther Bingo is to get a blackout.

Crap.

I was born in Hawai’i, so I guess I’m disqualified anyways.

Fine, for Pete’s sake, if you’re just going to whine about it, you win a certificate of live birth. Now we’re ready to start the next game, if you don’t mind. pointed look Thank you.

Sheesh.

OK, everybody get out your State of the Union bingo cards . . .

The rightmost column is already filled in.

Scoff all you want, but this congressional reading of the Constitution out loud in its entirety was long overdue and entirely necessary. Had they not done so, they might have forgotten what’s in it and quartered some soldiers in your house.

Were you going to draw 'em first or are you lazy?

He double-majored in pomposity and lacrimosity.

What’s a “redacted” version of the Constitution?

No, it’s hung, then drawn, then quartered.

Is anyone in Congress hung?

They did not read the parts of the original Constitution that have been superceded by amendment. Such parts include 3/5ths of a state’s slave population being counted towards Congressional representation, how a Vice-President and Senators are elected, the beginning date of the President’s term; shit like that.

Sort of, anyway. As that column points out, they left in some language about taxation that was superceded by the 16th Amendment.

Huh. That’s interesting, and amusing that they read the repeal of Prohibition but not the enactment of it.

Personally, I think they should have read every word. Sadly, nobody asked me.
