12.21.12 Apocalyptic Cults Forming?

I’ve been wondering if any cults are presently forming in expectation of the end of the world, and if we’ll see any Jim Jones-like stuff happening.

Mods, I didn’t know exactly where to put this, so please move wherever you think it needs to go.

Admittedly this post is a bit morbid, but it’s been on my mind ever since we learned of this and I just wonder if any people will off themselves to keep from having to endure whatever they think may happen?

There is a whole bunch of “Christians” who are proclaiming the Rapture on 5-22-2011 and 10-22-2011 as the Day of Judgement. But they aren’t any organized church but rather a group linked by radio broadcasts. It seems to me with the growth of the Internet the 12-21-2012 people even more so than the above-mentioned sect are loosely organized and awaiting the end on an individual level.
