I think the “180 g” refers to the mass of the LP. A Google search shows it used only in the context of record albums, as far as I can tell.

QED is right, the 180g referrs to the mass of the LP. Because it’s thicker, it’s less likely to warp, so over time the sound quality is better. It’s usually used on special issue / collecters edition albums.
