Any skinny on repetitive fuel pump problems on 1995 southern S-10 pickups? Specifically, O2 sensors being blown, rough idiling, etc.
Fuel pump, no. Vortec fuel injector assembly, yes. They typically fail so as to run excessive fuel through the engine, which can cause poor idling and oxygen sensor contamination. The Vortec assembly is not designed to be repaired, and generally must be replaced. It’s rather expensive.
There may be some outfits that have figured a way to rebuild these, but since it’s not an approach that GM approves or provides parts for, I’d be cautious.
