19th Century Social Security

As I search the census records for my surprisingly longed lived ancestors, I have realized that in the 1700s and 1800s the equivalent to Medicare and Social Security was to have 10 or 12 kids and hope that one of them would be prosperous enough to take you in when you hit your sixties.

So, if we vote next week to stop funding birth control, Social Security and Medicare, we can all be OK if we just remember to have lots of kids.

It must have been what the authors of the Constitution expected us to do.

Unfortunately with automation and computers, many kids being born today will probably never have a real (As opposed to non government funded make work ) job.

And so rather then funding their grey haired old parents sunset years, they will in fact be in competition for what money is available .

So a plan B might be advisable.
