2 Jesus Christ questions.

It’s not “my” particular reading, it is the position of the Christian religion for nearly 2,000 years. Jesus was 100% God, in that he was a divine being. However, he was also human, and thus suffered the same temptations and challenges humans face, and felt the same pains and longing. Anything less would have made him not human. However, because of his divine nature, he was able to do something humans cannot do, which is stand against temptations, overcome his challenges and pain and longing, and to do so perfectly. Anything less would have made him not God the Son.

It’s impressive because he was human. Being human, he had the potential to sin, and felt the temptation to do so. Being God, he did not follow through.

How did he do it “perfectly”? He resisted it perfectly because he was more than human, and yet, part of humanity is sinning. We are born with it, apparently. So if I am tempted, but resist, I’m like him? Nope, cause I didn’t do it perfectly. And yet, he was like us in every way?

I’m not intending to be confrontational, just trying to understand. Am I missing something here?
