2 questions: buttermilk and expired coupons

  1. Has anyone from the northeast ever tried Garelick Farms buttermilk? If so, can you taste fish oil in it like their regular milk? (a judge ruled that Hood can’t say it tastes fishy, but it does taste strange to me. Not fishy, but unpleasant) They seem to be the only buttermilk in stores at the moment, and I need buttermilk for a soda bread recipe. If it does taste odd, I’ll put vinegar in milk instead.

  2. Why do people sell expired coupons on e-bay? There are a bunch up for aution that boldly admit they expired yesterday, so it’s not as though the sellers are unaware of when they’re no longer good. I can’t figure out what the buyers would want them for, particularly considering that they’re not cheaper than the ones that are still good.

  1. I use GF buttermilk for baking all the time. Never detected any off flavors. I don’t drink it though.

Because a lot of stores will still accept them even though we have basically no hope of ever getting our reimbursement for them. Provided the customer is only presenting one or two expired coupons for less than $1 each, usually the cashier will let it slip by in the interest of speed and/or customer service.
