20% of us have BRAIN TUMORS?

According to www.pituitary.com, one in five of the world’s population has a brain tumor located on their pituitary gland. Can this be accurate? Are these meta-analysis studies reliable?

I have heard this before (I have a brain tumor myself, so I like to keep up on these things). It may be accurate, but it is important to remember that the vast majority of these tumors are both tiny and slow-growing. Most people who have them will die of other causes long before the tumor is large enough to cause them any serious health problems. However, I think it will be a good thing if this study makes doctors more inclined to check for pituitary tumors in patients who show signs of hormonal disruption. Those who do have dangerous pituitary tumors are often not diagnosed until after the tumor has already become quite large and done permanent damage to the pituitary gland, optic nerve, and brain.

According to http://www.pathguy.com/autopsy.htm, one in four autopsies reveal major disease that was unkown in life.
