20 Questions version 5.0

Yes, it’s that time again. Another round of Yo La Tengo and White Lightning’s 20 Questions! Oh come on, show some enthusiasm!

For new people joining the festivities:[ul][li]For an idea of how the game runs…[/li][li]A doper asks a yes or no question, I answer it. [/li][li]You all get 20 questions total. It’s not per person. [/li][li]First one to figure my ‘it’ out wins absolutely nothing. Enjoy. [/li][li]There are stupid questions. [/li][li]Stupid questions count as real questions, so I advise you not to ask stupid questions. [/li][li]Number your question (1-20). [/li][li]If you make a guess at what my ‘it’ is, it counts as a question. [/li][li]I retain rights to “make fun” of your username. (it’s not bad, for examples go to an older game) [/li][li]White Lightning is second in command. If I die, he’s in charge.[/ul][/li]My ‘it’ is always something that everyone has heard of before. My last ‘its’ were time, love, fire, and music. This game is no exception.

Actually, this game is sort of an exception. A 5 year old has probably heard of it, but may not understand it. Nonetheless, I promise you, everybody who posts here has a good has heard of it and has a good understanding of it. End of story.

I also promise you that this round’s ‘it’ is a lot easier than the last one. You should be able to get it in 15.
I’m set. I don’t think WL is though. I haven’t seem him online in a while, so I couldn’t very well tell him what my ‘it’ is this time yet. I should be able to hold out for a while, though.

In conclusion, fire at will…

I will start off with the usual.

  1. Is it a tangible object?

5 time champ asked: 1) Is it a tangible object?

err… champ, nopers.

My subject should read “That wasn’t long…”

2.) is it a concept of nature?

  1. Can it exist without humans?

[sub]I’ve been skimped on the name-mangling too… hint, hint ;)[/sub]

saepiroth asked: 2) is it a concept of nature?

Saber, when you say nature, do you mean like, “physical universe?” If so, then yes. It is.
Cougarfang asked: 3) Can it exist without humans?

King Kong, if a tree falls down in a forest and there’s no body around to hear it, does it make a noise? Of course it does. To answer your question, yes.

Don’t ask me why I put the tree thing in, I just thought it kind of fit.

4.) Has it been corrupted by a species who thinks they’re so smart, but in fact they’re only the third most intelligent species on the planet? (real question: Is it planet Earth?)

Anubis asked: 4) Has it been corrupted by a species who thinks they’re so smart, but in fact they’re only the third most intelligent species on the planet? (real question: Is it planet Earth?)

Anus, no.

5.)is it a mathematical abstraction? (like, Pi as opposed to Space)

saepiroth asked: 5) is it a mathematical abstraction? (like, Pi as opposed to Space)

skittles, a what? This is kind of hard to answer because I don’t know what a “mathematical abstraction” is. I’m pretty confident that the answer is no, though. It doesn’t really have anything to do with math, nor is it anything like “pi as opposed to space.”
So uhh… no.

Might as well try :

  1. Does it have an effect on the daily life of a typical person ?

SpaceDog asked: 6) Does it have an effect on the daily life of a typical person?

Laika, yup.

Hey ho, Yo La Tengo. Been out of town for a couple days. My profile still isn’t fixed, and I just realized I never gave you my email address. My home addy is same as listed in profile, just replace @home.com with @attbi.com. I’m reachable all day at inthetank2001@yahoo.com, since I can check that one at work and school. Anyone else can feel free to email me too, for whatever reason. Don’t be shy.

I like being second in command. I’m like the Supreme Court to YLT’s Executive and Legislative branches. He’s got all the creativity, makes all the decisions, and I just interpret stuff. All the glory, none of the responsibility.

So, good luck y’all. If any clarifications are necessary, I’ll post 'em as soon as I get word from the Big Boss.

Lightning, e-mail dispatched to home address…

Gotcha covered. Everything here is kosher. I’m also quite confident that the answer to #5 is ‘no.’ Carry on.

Can it be detected by any of the five senses?

Kat asked: 7) Can it be detected by any of the five senses?

Dank, well, that’s a toss up. Some may say yes, but I think I’ll go with no. Then again, it’s still morning and could be sadly mistaking. WL, this is where you come in.

  1. Is it a Force Proportional to the Product of the Masses of Objects and Inversely Proportional to the Distance Between Those Objects?

In other words, is it gravity ?

BTW Thanks for not using the obvious nickname for me.

Damn, err… champ, you are the man. It is, in fact, gravity, and I am very perplexed at how quickly you got that. You’re not in cahoots with WL, right? Oh well, so much for “in 15.”

It boggles the mind at how quickly you guys can figure these out, I need better ideas.
I’ll start another game up this upcoming week, after Easter. Until then, err… champ is the man.
