I thought it was satire. But throw in the Joos and the Olympic Logos, and the Masons and the Government and goddamn but this is deep. Is this a real named Conspiracy under which everybody’s conspiracies are subsumed?
The list is actually fascinating for the manifold ways in which natural phenomena can be understood–some only by trying really hard, but perhaps many as a child would–or explanations of natural phenomena, each of which not understood, or re-misunderstood given the original misunderstandings, which are not even consistently (rigorously) misunderstood. At least.
I tried categorizing the reasons such as most easily disproved by a 4-year old, most likely to be advanced by a non-kook, most difficult to grasp, most interesting in isolating a distinct historical conception of physics, or of mental illness, but then realized I had better things to do.
I saw a Jehovah’s Witnesses tract once that convincingly refuted evolution with this ironclad argument. (I quote here from memory, so not quite exact, but the tone is about right.)
This guy’s proofs are right up there with that. QED!
Some posit that it was the high altitude and thus lower wind resistance. Plus it was just a damn fine jump where everything clicked in place subconsciously for him.
While the difference between polar & equatorial Earth gravity is 100% real, it is also pretty much negligible on a human scale. Physicists and very advanced engineers care about such differences. High jumpers and sporting records-certifying agencies do not.
I read the first “proof” and claim horseshit … an experienced carpenter can discern the curvature of the Earth at 12,000 feet … I have and it’s my job to know.
One finds it hard to believe the guys is actually serious. But there are plenty of people that are so gullible and without the basic intellect to cope. So maybe he is.
But the whole mega-conspiracy thing subsuming all conspiracies was done decades ago in the Illuminatis! trilogy. There is at least some clear overlap.
A lot of his “proofs” are just different examples of the same proof, really. Look at all his examples of railroad tracks – lots of different railroads, but all just the same “proof”. Likewise all the examples of canals.
