2004 & welcome to the twilight zone

About as MPSIMS as it gets, but here goes…

Start Music doo…doo…doo…doo…

I have the proof!

Totally disassociated personal events so far…

My commute to work covers aprox 12 miles of motorway & 10 miles of urban roads in four NW London suburbs. As I drove along the motorway one morning the street lamps all went out as I approached them. Fair enough you say maybe their sequenced, but this then continued as I pass through each suburb (Ickenham, Ruislip, Pinner, & Harrow for those that care). Each time a approached a section of lights - out they went!

So at work, I need a pee. Standing there, as you do (well 50% of us do!) I notice a small spider creeping up the wall. As I look at him he freezes. I look away, he continues his journey - look back, he stops again. This repeats several times, WT.F.?

Next day’s journey to work. Filthy weather, wet but not really raining. On the motorway again, at speed, the sort of conditions where you have to keep using your windscreen washers as well as your wipers because of all the muck being thrown up by the other cars. As I near the end of a long straight section of road, for no apparent reason, a car pulls into my lane right in front of me. I brake, and then notice its registration number - M40 MUD. Oh, what motorway was I on? You’ve guessed it the M40!

All above is true - honest! & just because I’m off the booze after the Christmas indulgences aint got nothing to do with it, so there!

Every year has seemed increasingly bizarre and unrealistic for me from 1998 onward. To be fair, 2000 seemed a perfectly normal year, but crazy things happened to me in 1998, '99, '01, '02, '03, and so far '04 is not exception.

Someone told me that the world is getting stranger for everyone, that’s why there’s so many “what is reality?” movies in the last 5 years. But blah I’m sick of all that. I think the world is ALWAYS strange.

I agree, the world is definitely getting stranger.
