i’ve put all the valentines i’ve gotten in a box in the sw. i’m a lone chair on the porch; but i smile when i see the box!

Mika, yours came (as did others. They’re all so clever!) in a “your mail was fucked up by our machines” envelope from the post office, with a special extra $.02 stamp on it. Looks like it was rolled through some sort of machine - my heart was crushed (the candy one not the lovely felt one). But I ate it anyway haha
I messed up and forgot that my SDMB email address was set up to trash attachments. Friday I was like “why didn’t I get my address list?” and checked the trash. I found it just in the nick of time.
Hopefully everyone will get their valentines from me and Dolly ON Valentine’s day 
BTW i just love seeing the difference in everyone’s cards. Big or small, handmade or not, it’s just so fun to see!
I got all the rest of mine today in the mail.

Today I got my first two valentine’s in Iraq (Well at least this year) from twickster and gardentraveler . I love the spiderman!!!

So far I’ve gotten cards from trublmakr (my daughter loved the tattoos!), Avarie537 (we really appreciated that one, we have a bit of a crush on HP), Anaamika (the heart was beautiful), gardentraveler (nice C&H quote), and twickster (we think the 3D card was very cool). All very nice and completely different.
Warning: Smilie overload, appropriate for the ocassion! Don’t be hatin’. Just go with it.
I finally got some! (Cards, that is. Getcher minds outta the gutter! 
Now, that would have made a perfect Valentines… but I digress.) A very, very lovely homemade heart from mika that I’ll add to my collection of ACEOs (which this just happens to be the exactly correct size for!) and from BrattiAtti, who gets another vote for the inclusion of that cute confetti. Plus, I liked the treat bag and the Zebra was my favorite from Madagascar. How’d you know??
Furthermore, mika, I’m glad you enjoyed yours. I was afraid it wouldn’t be very good. It just screamed “6 year old!” 
However, I was equally enthralled with your real name. You have a great one on and off the boards! I’m so jealous (and unfortunately, despite the sweet compliment, I can tell you that I’m not very fond of my own. :p)
P.S. The poem (?) that you included; was it your own? Regardless, it’s absolutely beautiful.
So in all, thank you guys tons and tons! This has been my only surprises (except for some LOVELY emails – you know who you are! ) for the holiday and I’m incredibly grateful, or gratefool. They turned around my day. Hooray you guys!!

Thank you, I rather like it myself. It’s the shortening of my full name, and the shortening all by itself means “precious stone”. And I like yours!

Here is an example of what I search for on eBay. Well, except for anything over about $2.00. 
ACEO stands for art cards, editions and originals. They almost always come on something that is 3 1/2 X 2 1/2 or the same as trading card size. A lot use old playing cards and they can be about and made of anything. IE: Water color, oil, pencil, collage, mechanical, fabric, gel pens, photographs, you name it. Kids do it too. I’ve started making them, I’ve just been too shy to list any yet. :o However, if I do and they actually sell, I want to donate a small portion of whatever I get ('cause I’m sure it won’t be much!) to an AIDS foundation I’m especially fond of.
Anyway, thanks again about my moniker. It’s short for, roughly, Kimberly, which is way too girlie and sophisticated for me. That said, I also have to comment that I loved the poem, no matter who wrote it. And you know you’re talented enough.

I haven’t checked my mail in a few days, as I only check it about twice a week (e-pay!). This morning I stopped by the box and now everyone’s gone from the office, so I am opening up a whole bunch of them at the office! Woohoo - fun times!

They’re all hanging right over my sewing machine. Last time I didn’t take them down for ten months. I love looking up and seeing them. Thanks, all!
Hurray! I had 3 valentines to open on Valentine’s Day and got one more today.
