No Suarez for the shootout of course.
I’m really rooting for Ghana now. Suarez’s little gamble was just shitty.

Asamoah Gyan has balls of steel to stick that second penalty away like he did… that takes some real bottle.
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!
Come on, Ghana!
Oh yeah! Pereira sails it over.
And another save by Uruguay! Jesus. This is too hard to watch.
they can rot!
Fuck Uruguay. Fucking cheats don’t deserve to go through.
Yes sad stuff. It would have been so special to have Ghana reach the semi-final. I agree that a goal should be awarded when you have such a blatant handball. And give the offender a red card.
Yeah, great.
So, is it a accepted thing to have a hand ball if you are sure the goal is going in and you can’t reach it with your head? Is that a common thing to do?
Does Suarez miss the final?
Edit: apparently not… one game ban for red card
Yes! Yes! Yes!.
Arriba Uruguay!!
P.S. I am against cheating.
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSS!
Hmm. I appear to be the only non-Latino person who wanted them to win.
Come on, it’s a country of 3 million people! In the World Cup semi-final! With a really nice kit!
I have nothing against Uruguay, and while i was rooting for Ghana, i wouldn’t have cared too much if Uruguay won.
But to win by keeping out a certain goal with a handball? That’s just fucking bullshit.
Sorry. I’ll be rooting for Uruguay to be crushed now after that handball stunt.
What was he supposed to do? Just walk off the field?
I was rooting for them too.
You have no heart!, It’s not Uruguay’s fault if Gian got scared and missed the penalty.
VAMO ARRIBA LA CELESTE!
Yes, this is a boring sport…
Indeed. Under the current rules, you can’t really blame the guy for taking the handball. It’s not like he’s trying to put one over on the referee, it’s just that the penalty+red is preferable to a goal.
Exactly. I was for Ghana but I would have gladly cheered a Uruguay win, but this is fucking BULLSHIT!
I hope they lose badly now.
Anyway, that handball was about 90 secoinds after regulation time, and no way was there 90 seconds to add on to a period of extra time. The game was already over at that point, by rights. Stupid unwritten rules.
Right.
Both codes of rugby have something called a Penalty Try, where deliberate and blatant fouls that prevent a team from scoring can result in the referee simply awarding the score anyway, if the ref is convinced that the team would have scored without the foul. Soccer could do with something similar for cases like this.
But soccer doesn’t. So how did Uruguay cheat? It’s a serious question: should Suarez have simply conceded the goal and left the World Cup?
