2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa

I really can’t disagree.

Mexico is losing their focus. Argentina 2-0 now.

Wow that defender was sloppy.

No doubt about that one tho’.

Well, no officiating error on that goal; just an awful play by the Mexican defender.

It’s looking like the earlier game. A horrible, horrible call goes against them and they lose their composure.

Apparently, there’s only Sepp Blatter who is against it. How the fuck does one man get such a say in an event of this magnitude?

Do FIFA refs decide who they want to win in advance?

What a strike! 3-0

Hell of a strike from Tevez. Can’t believe Argentina’s turn-around!

NO kidding. That was staggering. A lightning bolt from Tevez!

In the case of the 2002 game between South Korea and Italy, yes.

Minor peeve - what is with the American habit of adding an “s” to words that don’t need it?

Offsides?

Daylight Savings Time?

Oh and 3-1 - nice goal!

Mexico is having a much strong second half, but it won’t be enough.

Yeah, and calling a single at-bat an “innings”! Who would do that?!? Oh, wait, that’s the English.

The difference is that “innings” is correct in British English, but neither “offsides” nor “daylight savings” is correct in American English. :stuck_out_tongue:

For the Americans wondering what our team needs to step up and play with the elite teams of the world, look at Tevez’s and Hernandez’s goals and that last strike by Messi. We don’t have, and have never had, players who can create on their own like that. Give those kind of players an inch of space and they’ll come up with something spectacular.

Our teams are getting better year after year, but we can’t seem to produce superstars. All the best teams have one, we don’t.

Well, Congratulations to Argentina.

I have to say that I was getting really annoyed with the local and national Univision coverage, there where many times were interviews with astrologers and “witch doctors” were shown on TV, they expressed confidence that Mexico was going to win.

Where are your brujos now?

:Sigh:

Reporters usually never go back to those “prognosticators” and explain to the public how stupid it was to give them broadcast time.

Actually, they are. Even if they are idiomatic, they are still correct.

Exactly. England had to press forward to score a goal they had already scored, leaving themselves exposed at the back.

I am fully of the opinion that England should refuse to take part in any further competitions unless goalline technology is used. I am fed up of this shit. I’ve watched football for too long and seen too many of these incidents. Somebody with clout has to take a stand.

Apparently by a lot of money changing hands to get the votes of the football associations of certain smaller countries.

It wasn’t impossible for Mexico to win today, but no one in their right mind, Mexican homers notwithstanding, could have seriously predicted it.
