Agreed. This has been a very entertaining match. Chelsea havent had a good preseason and now this. Are they in trouble?
I doubt it, as much as I wish they were. Hazard is absolutely a brilliant player, and they have a lot of talent besides him. But I do wonder about their team cohesion. Time will tell.
I do enjoy Mourinho’s little stumbles*, nonetheless, and I kind of like Swansea. Glad to see them get a point at Stamford Bridge.
ETA: No Courtois to face Manchester City next weekend…
Suddenly becomes a must win match for Chelsea in Man City win their first match. It didnt take em long to miss Cech.
Yeah, but let’s not get too ahead of ourselves. Begovic is a fantastic keeper. He’d start for the majority of Prem teams and was great as Stoke’s starting keeper the last few seasons. To have him as a backup is simply mind-boggling.
I agree. Begovic is very good.
I thought United were quite unimpressive.
I agree. They were Manure.
>Sigh<
Arsenal had 22 shots, but only 6 on target, to West Ham’s 8 and 4. 68% possession to 32%. Lots of possession in the attacking half. No goals to show for it.
And thus did the Gunners give away our home opener by allowing West Ham two goals, both coming off goofy defensive lapses (the first a free kick Čech really should have been able to stop, but he misjudged it.)
Come on, guys! You’re so much better than this!
I thought Spurs looked like the better team for sure, and were unlucky to come away without points. Still, a promising beginning to the season.
No, you’re not.
Sounds like a gripe about the poor match engine in FM.
So about that Chelsea made a huge mistake in selling Cech talking point?
I am not going to be as circumspect as Thing Fish. You should support Tottenham. If you support Ajax Spurs have 3 former Ajax stars starting regularly right now. It’s the youngest starting lineup in the Premier League which means it is only going to get better, but they aren’t so popular that you will be a front runner. Also Chelsea are a bunch of racists and Arsenal supporters are the worst people on planet earth with Hammers following close behind. You don’t want to throw in your lot with people like that.
Also, I would like to take a moment to moan that I can’t properly make fun of Arsenal for losing to West Ham on the same weekend that Spurs lost due to an own goal. :smack:
Edit: I am soooo happy to have the premier league back. The off season was torture.
They didn’t. Courtois, pen notwithstanding, is as good as Cech,
Still, I don’t think that Cech will be the problem in this season’s Arsenal. Wenger was unable to get either Schneiderlein nor a real goalscorer (seriously, not even Lacazette) and will probably resort to a last day deal for any last minute reject from a big team, as usual. I’m betting Gotze, since another attacking midfielder is exactly what’s less needed.
I ceched that one, didnt I?
2-0 at home against West Ham as opposed to 1-0 on the road against Man U? I think we can make fun! Besides, the own goal was a fluke and the shot would likely have gone in even if our guy hadn’t touched it.
Ten weeks of sheer hell.
Huh, unusual Friday match. Villa-ManU just started.
Old Jose is losing it. What the hell does he think that he knows better about a players condition that a medical professional, for fucks sake, even Army Generals commanding millions of men have to defer to doctors on medical issues.
There is a reason he is The Special One. Love him. He isn’t a phoney. He is a combination of Bill Bellichek and Bill Parcels.
Mourhino is the main reason I’m rooting loudly for City in this game this morning.
