2015-16 Barclays Premier League Thread

I have to admit that was a fair result in the end, although we had several shots that had Lloris beaten and were only inches off target. Sure was an entertaining match!

I really thought that Spurs were going to take all three for about the first 70 minutes of the match. I am cautiously optimistic that they may actually be a top 4 team because Arsenal are really really good and we just went toe to toe with them and no one can say that either side wasn’t really trying this time.

Good match. I love football, I hate the international break.

It was a really good match.

Spurs 4-1 West Ham! Four points off the lead, one point out of fourth, and still no losses since the opener. I am starting to think this team really could be something special. Looking forward to seeing what happens against Chelsea this weekend. Not to look past FK Qarabag, of course.

I’m OK with looking past the mid week game. I sort of hope that people who don’t get regular minutes might get a shot and that Kane, Erikson, Dier and the rest get to rest.

Edit: oh and, that was a really fantastic game.

It’s going to happen… The Woolwich finish 5th and Spurs finish 4th and The Woolwich win the Champions League. Blimey God, I know us lot killed your only son but that was over two thousand years ago. Give it a rest, mate.

Try to keep up with the times, good sir. The past is the past. Get over it.

Arsenal are never going to just walk away with a trophy: always there is uncertainty and inconsistency. When the Gunners are on their game, it’s some of the greatest football in the world, and I think we are more than capable and earning some trophies this season. But whether it will happen or not, who knows. It’ll be a fun ride, regardless!

You’re trying to tell me about “uncertainty and inconsistency”? I’m a Spurs supporter and I don’t need any lessons about that.

Anyway… Let’s all laugh at Chelsea:D

Oh shit… they’re through to the second round… that can’t happen again can it?

Hear, hear.

I console myself with the thought that it’s better for English football in general.

So, tell me about this Bored Moth… Bad meth… errrr…Bournemouth? I really really have warmed to them.

What a fantastically open and exciting season.

La Liga, Bundesliga and Serie A? ZZZzzzzzzz

Annnnnnnd you re going to lose the Europa League final to Klopps 10th place Liverpool and miss out on another spot.

… And Harry Kane will then transfer to Barca or AC Milan and win the Champions League in his first season.

It can’t Bale… err fail.

It’s an amazing story: they’re the club with the longest time in the 3rd tier and before 2013 had only been in the 2nd tier once before for a brief spell in the 1980s.

This time seven years ago they were at the very bottom of the 4th tier of English football with zero points and facing relegation out of the Football League. Now they are beating Chelsea and Man Utd.

The Bindesliga isnt zzzz at all. Dortmund are resurgent and the race for CL places is wide open. And they do it without billionaire foreigners or mountains of debt.

I hear that the Armenian League is even more open! That probably means it’s even better…

Right, so there’s that added bit of value, for the bigoted.

Or the stupid who cant see the larger point.

Also point out the bigotry, in crayon if necessary.

Ah fuck, that was fuckin’ fucked. Five points pissed away in the last two weeks. Did I already say fuck?

Take solace in the fact that just about everyone is dropping points. And the insane Christmas part og the schedule is about to hit where anything can happen. Also there is still half a season to be played.

Been down to Goodison a couple of times recently - some phenomenal talents on the park, as Roberto would say. Football fans of all colours and persuasions are making the trip to Everton just so they can tell their grandkids they saw John Stones play football.

Frustrating that the results are not doing justice to the side - the team is young and seems to lack the collective sack to convert close games. Defence is fine, player by player, but is missing something as a unit, not helped by Tim Howard being well on the decline. So important to have a solid goalkeeper - destroys morale when the keeper is weak. Tough spot to fill, as well - need someone to grow into the role, rare to just slot a young guy in and have them perform from the get-go.
