Olynyk’s shoulder went into Oubre’s face. That’s not “pushed a bit”. Olynyk’s flop 5 seconds later was a joke. I wouldn’t expect play to stop just because someone landed on the floor - it’s basketball. “Breaking ankles” is kind of a thing.
As to Love, he had both arms wrapped around Love’s elbow and twisted. He did the same thing to Robin Lopez earlier in the playoffs (watched that game too). At some point, there’s a pattern. It has nothing to do with hippie hair or finishing every sentence with “eh”.
The Spurs prevail in one of the ugliest overtimes since Indianapolis and Rochester in 1951. Kawhi Leonard’s ankle is jacked up, LaMarcus Aldridge continues his slide off the cliff with a 7-for-21 night where he repeatedly failed to post up James Hardin, and Hardin turned in a Russell Westbrook special, completely falling apart in OT.
Nobody appears to have a ghost of a chance of preventing Golden State-Cleveland III.
Spurs maybe but Celtics have no shot
I respectfully disagree, I think Cleveland’s suspect defense makes a Celtics upset more likely than a Spurs upset - especially with no Parker, and Kawhi possibly having a bum ankle.
Just my two cents.

At this point, I’m just hoping someone trips them up for a game. I mean, it just always seemed inevitable for yet another Warriors/Cavaliers final, but could someone make it look like there’s a struggle to reach the Finals?
Kawhi Leonard is out for tonight’s game 6 - which is at Houston. Unless Aldridge can wake from the dead, we’re looking at a blowout and a Game 7 in San Antonio.
Not surprising since the Spurs are playing with House Money.
Spurs 114, Rockets 75.
First off, I’d like to apologize to LaMarcus Aldridge for all the shit I’ve talked about his perfermance this playoffs. Way to shut me up, big fella.
Secondly, if I was a Rockets fan…I would find it very, very difficult to continue to be a Rockets fan.
Tonight’s game confirmed when you play with house money you have less pressure
I’ve heard speculation that James Harden may have been sabotaging his own team or coach last night. His performance was so bad as to make such questions almost legit. He did not even attempt a field goal until midway through the 2nd quarter. There is such a thing as having an “off night” and then there’s the turd James Harden put forth last night.
There’s also speculation that the elbow to the head Harden took from Gasol during game 5 may have given him a concussion. From the point where he was hit in the head, he went 1 for 6 with 4 turnovers, and did some weird stuff like screaming at Clint Capela for seemingly no reason after Harden had the ball stripped from behind. And in game 6, of course, he was a shell of himself, unrecognizable from the Harden we saw all year.
If true, it’s quite troubling: the possibility that the Rockets failed to diagnose it, or the possibility that were aware and sent Harden out there anyway. Harden’s been concussed before, if you recall, by an elbow from Metta World Peace (which would have earned a lifetime suspension from the NBA if I were in charge).
Golden State came back from 25 down in the third quarter to beat San Antonio after Kawhi Leonard left the game with a bum ankle. They went on a 18-0 run immediately following the injury and squeaked it out by 2. I’d love for this to be a relevant series, but I don’t see much happening for the Spurs with Leonard out. I’m interested to see how both teams react to that game. Game 2 could be interesting.
GS won because Aldridge came up small and couldn’t deliver in the 4th qtr. The Spurs still had a 10 pt lead in the 4th qtr
I really don’t like Draymond Green, but have to credit his defensive play. Anything Aldridge was getting was going to come the hard way. But if Aldridge struggles and Leonard is out, I’d expect Pau Gasol to do something. Is Pau only allowed to go to the rim off a pick and roll? He needs to be a threat to score.
I just met a man named “Jon Stockton.” I resisted the urge to ask him about Karl Malone. (I know, it’s JOHN Stockton, but close enough!)
Sorry. I had to tell someone and my wife will not have any clue what I’m talking about.
Game 7 will be interesting. I think Washington might actually have more raw talent but the Celtics are certainly a talented bunch in their own right and might have a little more maturity and discipline. I might be wrong but I could see both teams making Cleveland work a little for their return to the NBA Finals. Clearly the Cavs are the favorite to win the series - not doubting that for a moment. But particularly with the Wizards aggressive and physical style of play, a few games might be worth watching should they make it past Boston.
I still think Washington presents the tougher matchup for Cleveland, and yet I’ll be a little surprised if they win tonight. Really, I think it will come down to who has the better game, Avery Bradley or Brad Beal.
I think either of the two teams loses in 5 to Cleveland… I can’t even get the C’s to 6 by giving them credit for the extra home game. I do think everyone who thinks the Wizards will be a tougher matchup is getting a bit hypnotized by that great starting five. However bad you think the WAS bench units are, they’re even worse than that. The Cavs in LeBron-averaging-over-42-MPG playoff mode will have a 20 point advantage every game in those bench minutes.
(That said, I will be at the Garden tonight, and I am already looking forward to the palpable dread of the entire arena when the C’s are down 21-6 midway through the first quarter.)
Yeah, don’t get me wrong, I think Cleveland wins the Eastern Conference Finals in 4-5 games whether it’s Washington or Boston.
By the way, Boston won and my prediction about the game coming down to Bradley vs. Beal was way off. Beal had a hell of a game, but Avery Bradley was fairly quiet. Kelly Olynyk was the hero for the Celtics.
