2018 Indianapolis 500 thread

Thank gawd it’s over. I live in walking distance of the racetrack. This race makes my weekend hell.

I live here because it’s the cheapest place in Indy to live that has relatively good security.

All of them on Turn 4 for some reason. The lower downforce this year also means lower induced drag, IOW smaller “holes in the air”, making drafting and passing for following cars a little more treacherous.

I think Jones and Patrick both crashed in Turn 2.

I’m not sure if total downforce is the issue. All of them had oversteer, which makes me think it’s a problem with balancing the front and rear downforce, rather than not enough downforce. Maybe the fastest setup for these cars is to run with oversteer, or running in turbulence causes them to lose more downforce on the rear than the front.
