I didn’t see it; was it Niklas Edin?
I didn’t record every country/flag combo, but I can tell you only one country had a Curler. There was also a lone Nordic Combined flag bearer.
The “athletes from Russia” flag bearer was a volunteer.

Far too many commercials.
I couldn’t get that creepy-ass big swan/bird/lizard with the human head out of my brain the whole time. I know it’s a traditional Korean thing, but it’s still fucking creepy.
I’m digging that replays of (most) every event and match are on the NBC Sports app, and can watch whatever I want on-demand, and can pause, stop, go back, etc. Live TV is for suckers, suckas!
Yes, biathlon, biathlon, biathlon. I really wish NBC would dedicate some airtime to other events but all they seem to show is biathlon.

I really like the biathlon, but it’s not the Winter Olympic Games until the downhill skiing event(s).
Hockey. Downhill skiing and Olympic hockey. Yeah, okay, other rating events, too, but I love Olympic hockey. Looking forward to seeing how Finland does this year.
That is a somewhat short, but very pretty downhill course.
I’m having a hard time understanding why they are televising training runs?
Aren’t there other things to devote precious air-time to that actually matter?
Like what, curling?
My daughter is really into it and I enjoy them, although not as much as I used to when I was younger. We both like the figure skating, bobsledding, luge, snowboarding, some skiing, speed skating (watching qualifiers now) and of course, hockey. So, yes, we enjoy them .
You joke, but NBCSN just showed a ton of biathlon.
I was shocked to actually see the normal hill ski jumping competition broadcast live today, with few interruptions. My past experiences with the Olympics have been that it’s just an afterthought sort of sport, only shown with highlights. It was great to watch it live and see that some of the old timers are still jumping (Noriaki Kasai is on his EIGHTH olympics! Holy crap!)
I root for the Poles (my mom and dad are from there, and I used to follow Malysz in the day), but I was a bit disappointed today when they finished the first jump ranked #1 and #2, but finished #4 and #5. Well, we still got the big hill to go, and the Poles look good for the team competition, too.
My country (Netherlands) is off to a great start with a full sweep at the first speed-skating event (3000 m women, gold, silver, bronze) and a silver in the men’s 1500 m shorttrack.
Is speed-skating short track the NASCAR of Winter Olympics?
So the Hamiltons beat Norway. But in an interview afterward, they seemed disappointed. Apparently they didn’t win enough? This is the first time I’ve paid attention to curling, so I’m not sure why they seemed disappointed.
I could be wrong but I think after their loss to the Chinese team they dropped out of medal contention, which, if true, means this win didn’t mean anything.
ETA: just searched and, yes, they’re out of contention.
Good streaming links (don’t worry I won’t report you :D)?
I strongly disagree with that last part; for Tokyo he needs to pay homage to the Ancient Olympics.
