We have often joked here about loading all of our picks on a plane and have it go down, but has it ever happened before that someone got a twofer (or more) from a single incident? I don’t ever remember that happening before!
The way I see it… Planes have windows, so it qualifies for my theme…
Now as it is very possible that the plane was shot down… I was here in America, I didn’t do it, nobody saw me do it, you can’t prove anything, [Gets pull out by Russian security] Long Live Ukraine!!.. /jk
When Benazir Bhutto was assasinated it was on December 27. She gave me my only points for that year and the award for last points. I don’t know why I had her except she was a woman in a traditionally male role in a male dominated society that had unrest.
David McCallum has given me 10 points. (Incidentally, if he had died a week ago, it would’ve been 11. I’m glad he got to celebrate one last birthday, but come on Ducky…)
Don’t get your hopes up. I once had a list of people at least 95yo and got three points that year. As someone once said, if you reach great age you get very good at staying alive.
I’ve been playing since 2018, and all of my lists in the main death pool have been entertainers over 90 years old. The best year was 2022, when I had 17 points with 4 picks. In 2020 I had 3 picks, but only got 2 points for the year, because a couple of them were over 100.
Yeah, I’ve used the same themed list for three years now, and most of my picks are in their 90s. I had one death on my list two years ago (Cloris Leachman) and one pointless death last year (Nehemiah Persoff at age 102) and so far nobody’s had the courtesy to cough up any points for me this year.
