A donation to the winning teams NIL fund? Or an expansion of the winning teams cap of the fund that would allow more (legal) money to be paid out?
They did this with the all star game for the same reasons. Giving the winning team’s conference home field advantage. Not sure that it worked, but that’s a different situation.
You’re on the right track with big but not too big. I don’t think we should ever expect NFL players to risk an injury and play. But meaningful reward is still doable I’d think.
The first would require that the money be given to the members of the NIL Collective - remember, the schools themselves cannot have NIL deals with their athletes - and there is no guarantee that any of it will actually go to NIL deals. The second would be an NCAA violation.
What they can do is, do what, if I heard right, the College Basketball Crown tournament does; sign the athletes to their own NIL deals, with the winners’ deals being worth more.
He planned to kill himself with a butter knife? Really?
I have a feeling this is going to (ALMOST) rival the Sandusky scandal when all is said and done. Just because it appears to involve consenting adults doesn’t minimize it.
I said ALMOST. Even if, on a scale of 1 to 1,000 and Sandusky is 1,000 and this case is ranked 100, it’s still bad enough. People like this rarely get caught after the first one.
