Soeaking of Anora, Sean Baker already has two Oscars, and in theory could win two more, which would set a new record for a person winning Oscars for one movie. Walt Disney won four Oscars in one year but not for one project.
I went down more levels and changed something to “primary language” and that worked.

Some trivia a friend just told me: Fernanda Torres is nominated for best actress. The last Brazilian nominee for best actress was her mom, Fernanda Montenegro, who plays the older version of her in I’m Still Here. She was nominated in 1999 for Central Station.

Not for best picture - Anora was the favorite. But an upset for five awards including best actress, yes.

It’s an upset Baker won four Oscars, but I think I lot of people saw Anora as a slight favourite to win the last prize.
On the betting sites, it had the the best odds for Best Picture, Director, and Original Screenplay. The minor upset was Mikey Madison over Demi Moore in a category that loves to reward for career.
I mean, if this were scripted, Demi Moore losing to a 25-YO would be way too on the nose.
I had a feeling about Anora. It played forever on the Westside at the AMC that has become a favorite showcase for award contenders (early premiers, live appearances by directors and cast, etc.).
What’s forever? It was showing continuously from about a week before its official release into January of this year.
Huh. Everything I saw was saying either Conclave or The Brutalist were likely for Best Picture.
And yeah, Demi was supposedly a shoe-in for Actress.
But I saw it coming when Baker started winning everything he was up for.
